South Bound and Down

Just landed in Paris, a day’s rest and I’m on my way South to Spain. I’ll try to continue taking daily photos. These aren’t good compositions, they’re just a record.

On the road again

We’ve been trying to get down to our house in Spain for 9 months. There has always been something to stop us: I cancelled my holidays 4 times because of work, the owners of the observatories where my telescopes are needed help, and in July we were just knackered. Finally, we’re on our way.

Driving

Departure 7am. Some fuel is needed mid morning.

Chocolatine and coffee

We know we’re on our way when we’ve passed the border and we’re crossing the Pyrenees through tunnels after 4 hours on the road or so.

At one of the stops on the Spanish side, I saw these. I think they’re tanks for gas or something. They looked like they were made of papier mache.

Tanks?

The toilets at a petrol station decided not to go for the traditional men/women on the doors. I have no clue which is which.

Women?
Men?

At another stop, the sigh for the station is completely rusty. It’s open and doing business though. In fact it’s under new management.

Derelict

But we’ve never seen the restaurant open in years of passing through.

Restaurant?

Finally, after 13 hours of driving through the whole of Spain, we’re home. This is our street.

See you another day
