This photo was taken near the BNF, the National Library in Paris. The L shaped building far right is one of the 4 main buildings of the library. Then one close right is another.

For some reason, they made the pavement wood all around the library. I can’t see wood and not take a B&W photo.

Canon 350D + Canon 17-55IS. The processing was mostly contrast adjustments.

A software engineer looking 50 in the eye. Photography picked up over 20 years ago, then set aside as life intervened — and recently returned to, with a deliberate focus on monochrome. Also drawn to found negatives: rolls of film abandoned by strangers, full of lives worth rescuing from obscurity.
