Work having started (that’s why I’m in Oslo after all), things have been seriously hectic today.

One of the things I found at my desk (that other people use when I’m not here) is a couple of tiny polaroid-style photos. Someone has a printing camera around the office. What’s creepy about this photo is that all the people in it have left the company over the last year. It’s like fate has gone through the photo checking them out Final Destination style and all that’s left of them is that photo nobody is claiming.
The office is pretty generic. Like most companies, we don’t own our building, so it’s rented and is totally generic. Only some of the decoration is ours (nice jackup, reminder of previous incarnations of the company).

I didn’t have time to take many photos today. By 10am I was running 2 meetings behind schedule, by lunch time I simply didn’t go to 2 other meetings, and the day continued from there. It’s a pity because unlike yesterday, the light was good today.

I liked the shadows and the multiple no entry signs on the side of the road. I tried to create a triangle between the road signs on the left, those on the right, and the plant pot at the bottom.

I even took a “selfie”. I liked the arrow framing my shadow.

Oslo’s streets are littered with those scooters. They’re menaces because those riding them ignore traffic lights and the highway code. They much more dangerous that cars you don’t hear coming (near 100% electric in Oslo). I liked the second scooter echoing the first one and I tried to create a diagonal in the frame with the pavement.

I thought the tree framed the bus stop well. And the hash logo on the stop was suitable for the square format.

I couldn’t resist the symmetry of those doors and the pattern repetition.

When I was back in the hotel, I was watching old Archers and Krieger was taking photos for Sharlene’s album cover. Am I a big giant loser that I was trying to figure out what camera they used to model for this? There’s clearly a light meter at the top but no logo. It’s longer than on the Yashica 44LM or Yashica LM, much fatter than on the Rolleiflex. I’m thinking maybe Minolta Autocord without the cover?

See you another day.
