I like to get my hands on photographs that people have discarded. These meant something to someone at some point, and it pains me to see that they’re being thrown away now.
I’ll start a series of posts about these photos as I scan them. I’ll post the entire rolls since I can’t know what the intent of the original author was.
This series contains photos taken from a few places around Spain in August 1966 according to the negatives jacket. Most are from Barcelona and surroundings, but not all.

There is a woman that appears in many of the photos. I’m going to guess that it’s the author’s special friend. In most of the photos, she appears to pose whilst pretending to ignore the photographer.

Typical Spanish architecture. One of the things that fascinates me is that these were taken in a very different period of Spanish history: it was under Franco’s rule. But that rule was somehow weakening a little bit and it was opening to the world again, trying to gain economic development.

The mystery woman pretending to just walk down street steps.

These Ferris wheel photos are the first ones I tried a reverse search on, thinking they’d be specific enough to be recognised. It turns out, they were taken in Barcelona and the area hasn’t changed much. In fact the Ferris wheel appears on many recent photos, still.

I suspect the man below is the author of most of these photos. It’s the only photo that is properly out of focus and includes bad camera movement. I’d think that his friend told him that it wasn’t far that he was always taking the photos and he was never in them.
