This is the second instalment of my found photos series and also the second Spain 1966 episode.

This roll is black and white, unlike the first one that was colour. I suspect both were Kodak stock, but I don’t know for sure which.

The next few photos have a stuck in the hotel vibe during the summer. The bed, the window, the blinds, all screams “let’s take it easy this morning” to me.

At the same time, I totally understand: one of my long term projects is photos of hotel rooms over the years (starting in 2000). Hotel rooms, places where you sometimes stay for a while but aren’t yours, have a certain appeal.

Is this a different woman from the previous series?

At first I was surprised to see a near exact duplicate of the previous photo. And then I was the man taking a photo of the woman coming down the stairs. Let’s be honest: as photographers, we can’t resist taking photos of people taking photos.

I love the isolated chair here. That’s the kind of photos I like to take.
But also notice: there is someone sitting behind the far pillar.

Strong patterns and textures here.

That guy looks so much like one of technicians at one of my observatories in Spain. Obviously, he wouldn’t have been born at the time.
I don’t know what he’s making but it seems to be of interest to tourists.
