I have to do a bit more waiting today for more deliveries (my office UPS died). My wife retouched the wall a little bit after the wallpaper dried over night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The usual morning view from my office. The hills are covered in olive trees. That’s pretty much all there is here, and the whole ground in Southern Andalucia is covered, mountains and all. When my parents flew here last year, it was one of their first comments: when you hit Andalucia, it’s just olive trees everywhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We put mirrors up on the wall to reflect some light. The livingroom is a bit dark because it’s sanwiched between the kitchen and the hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today is the Pentacon Six’s day out. First ever outing. It seems to be a quirky camera that requires you to learn its ways. The first time I loaded the film, the mirrir didn’t go quite all the way up and locked the camera. It took me a long time to figure it out. You also have to be gentle with the film winder and not let it go back violently to avoid breaking teeths in the mechanism. That’s a diva of a camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We went up the mountain behind our village. Not a huge mountain, but the top is nearly 500m above the village. A good hike starting with lots of stairs to reach the hights of the village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just leaving the village, we have a good view over the lake nearby. I tried to put the gate in the bottom center as a gateway to the lake and as a focal point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hills have houses on top. A bit like Tuscany. I tried to frame it with vegetation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My wife was taking photos with her “new” Olympus OM-20. It was a film heavy day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is my version of her photo. I was double taking with the Pentacon and the phone so that I wouldn’t have to wait until I processed the film. The composition is more my traditional landscape composition: foreground interest, then layers. No real leading line this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the way there was a lot of interesting vegetation (cacti, etc), but it’s not really my thing so I didn’t spend much time on them. Also, with the 120 film I only had 12 photos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also a bit of fauna. In this case 3 squirrels running up and down a tree. But with a fixed 80mm (Pentacon) and 50mm (phone) focal length, I didn’t have much reach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the top of ther mountain there is a tower. The climb was harduous and at some point turned into proper climbing. It was exhausting but we made it. Though the way down wasn’t a walk in the park either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
