My time is insane every time I come to Oslo. I’ve been running behind in meetings again and it took me all day to manage to finish a 20 minutes job (and that’s after being in the office by 08:30 to try to get some time to do work). I had to wait until tonight to have any time to take photos (even lunch was a work lunch).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These photos aren’t very inspiring, but they’re practice for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To walk a little but and to take some photos I went to one of the main parks in Oslo. It’s always busy and is full of statues, many of them naked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are statues of all styles and all kinds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I know it’s a clich\u00e9 to take photos of people taking photos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strangely there is an old phone box in the middle of the park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How could I resist taking a photo of a foot sticking out from behind a tree?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fountains are still running but it’s getting cold. I had to wear a jacket this morning and tonight. It really feels like winter is arriving here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was attracted to the pattern on the ground and the curve I thought would fit well in a square frame. I also tried to place the square lights (squares within square) is a roughly symmetrical position within the frame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More patterns on the ground. I saw that guy come into the gap in the middle, but having to set up the camera nearly made me miss him. I very quickly cantered the circle, and looked for symmetry with the lines and the square lights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More squares within the square frame. I tried to have as many kinds of symmetry in this shot, with in addition the repetition of the squares going into the distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The stone patterns on the ground were crazy interesting. The lines, the textures, and way it all fits together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A little bit further, I tried to frame the circular sculpture in the background using the one is front of me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What attracted me to this scene is the person standing just on the edge of the hill next to the circular sculpture. It gives a sense of scale. I included the stairs in the frame to add some repeating pattern and depth, with the main subject in the centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once at the top of the hill, I took these two people on each side of the central sculpture to create a triangular composition with symmetry.,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The people were admiring this view. You can see the sculptures in the park and in the far background Oslo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even the toilets are stylish. But out of order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Walking back to the hotel I found the gravel interesting. Once again I tried to include some symmetry in the shot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the street I was interested by the tones in that building and the lights on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blinds are always a great source of symmetry and pattern. So I couldn’t resist when I saw those.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mix of textures was interesting on that building. Obviously I had to make it symmetrical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
