It was taken in Paris on the 30\/09\/2006 using the old Canon 350D + Canon 17-55 f\/2.8 IS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"683\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/photoni.st\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/IMG_7486_published-683x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-108\" srcset=\"https:\/\/photoni.st\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/IMG_7486_published-683x1024.jpg 683w, https:\/\/photoni.st\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/IMG_7486_published-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/photoni.st\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/IMG_7486_published-768x1152.jpg 768w, https:\/\/photoni.st\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/IMG_7486_published-1024x1536.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/photoni.st\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/IMG_7486_published.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 683px) 100vw, 683px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>I converted it to monochrome using 3 layers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>One for the background, converted to B&amp;W using a green filter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One for the gravel at the bottom of the picture by reducing exposure by a couple of stops.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One for under the ivy, by pushing the exposure by a couple of stops.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I merged them all in Gimp and then added vignetting. Finally, I added a strong file grain because I don&#8217;t like my B&amp;W to be too clean.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While I wait for the 6D to arrive and for time to go out and take photos, I&#8217;ve been converting some old photos.
